Overview
traction-check, an agent that tells you if a crypto project’s traction is real or farmed.
You paste a project’s X handle, a token contract, or both. The agent pulls the posts tagging the project from the last 7 days, checks who is posting them, and reads the token’s transfers from the last 24 hours. It then gives a score out of 100 and a verdict: Looks organic, Mixed signals or Looks farmed.
Who it’s for
People in crypto who are about to ape into an early project and can’t tell if the noise is real. On CT, a timeline full of posts can be 10 bot accounts posting the same line, and volume can be a few wallets passing tokens back and forth. traction/check shows that in about 30 seconds, before you put money in.
What it does
-
Confirms the right project by looking up its X profile.
-
Counts only posts where people actually tagged the project, not posts by the project itself or random name matches.
-
Grades every posting account (established, regular, new or tiny, likely fake) by age, followers and default profile picture. Each card links to the exact post.
-
Flags copy-paste posts, a few accounts making most of the noise, and engagement that doesn’t match the post count.
-
Onchain, it counts how many wallets moved the token and spots wallet pairs sending back and forth, a common wash pattern. It works on Celo, Base, Ethereum, Arbitrum, BNB Chain and Hyperliquid.
-
Gives a fixed rule-based score, so the same project gets the same result, then an AI summary in plain English.
How it uses buy
On every check, the agent pays for services it doesn’t own through buy, from its own wallet (ERC-8004 agent 10007): X profile lookup, X post search, Chainstack Celo RPC and Cencori inference. Every payment is listed on the report with its Celo transaction, so anyone can verify it.
Users get 2 free checks with no wallet, then pay $0.10 per check in USDT or USDC on Celo through x402. They’re only charged if the check completes. It works in MiniPay, MetaMask and any wallet through WalletConnect.
