Overview
TheSaviour – Smart Food Distribution and Emergency Aid Coordination Platform
TheSaviour is a smart civic aid and food distribution platform designed to reduce food wastage and improve the delivery of essential supplies to communities in need. It connects food donors, volunteer riders, and relief shelters through a centralized system that coordinates donations, allocation, and delivery.
The platform uses an intelligent allocation algorithm to distribute donations based on urgency, expiry deadlines, shelter demand, resource compatibility, and rider carrying capacity. Large donations can be automatically divided into smaller parcels for efficient transportation. An interactive map visualizes donors, riders, shelters, and delivery routes, while a dispatch dashboard tracks parcels throughout the delivery lifecycle.
A key feature of TheSaviour is its disruption-recovery mechanism, which attempts to reassign deliveries when a rider becomes unresponsive or redirect donations when a shelter becomes full or unavailable. The platform also includes a simulation environment for testing scenarios such as urgent deliveries, parcel splitting, rider failures, and shelter disruptions.
Built using React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Python, and FastAPI, TheSaviour demonstrates how intelligent logistics, real-time operational visualization, and automated recovery strategies can support more efficient and resilient aid distribution.
The primary objective of TheSaviour is to minimize avoidable food wastage, improve resource utilization, and ensure that surplus food and essential supplies reach suitable recipients as efficiently and safely as possible.
