About VELLAR X STELLAR HACKATHON
Vellar x Stellar Hackathon. A weekend for developers to build with Vellar's passkey smart wallet SDK on Stellar.
No seed phrases. No key custody. No silent signing. Vellar wraps Soroban smart accounts behind passkeys, on chain spending policies, and agent ready payments (x402) so you focus on the app, not the wallet plumbing.
WHAT TO BUILD:
We want the boldest, most creative ideas for the Stellar ecosystem, not clones of what already exists. Anything using vellar-sdk. Suggested tracks:
Wallet SDK — passkey onboarding, payments, any app on top of a Vellar smart account
Policy Builder — spending limits, allowlists, multisig style controls enforced on chain
x402 Agent Payments — an autonomous agent that pays for resources on its own, capped by an on chain budget

Vellar is a programmable payment platform for Stellar — the payment layer for the agent economy. We give developers everything needed to build consumer and AI-agent apps on Stellar through one SDK, vellar-sdk on npm.
Builders are excited because Vellar collapses months of wallet-and-payments plumbing into a few lines:
-Passkey smart wallets:
Users onboard with Face ID or Touch ID instead of seed phrases. Each wallet is a Soroban smart account, keys live in the device's secure enclave and never leave it, and fees are sponsored server-side so users never need to hold XLM. No key custody, no silent signing.
-On-chain spending policies:
Because every wallet is a smart contract, developers attach programmable policies that the chain enforces — spending limits, multisig, allowlists, and provenance rules — checked inside the account's authorization, not by client-side code that can be bypassed.
-x402 agentic payments:
This is what builders are most excited about. Vellar runs a live x402 facilitator with Bazaar discovery, so people and AI agents can find and pay for services on Stellar. An agent gets a scoped session key with a budget, and can pay autonomously within limits Stellar consensus enforces — even if the agent is fully compromised. Combined with a verified-only policy, an agent can be restricted to paying only code that's been verified, giving your agent a budget, not your keys.
It's all live on Stellar testnet today, open source, and composable — build a consumer wallet, an agent that transacts, or both, without becoming a wallet-infrastructure expert.
