Tourist Niketan

Tourist Niketan Explore Maharashtra, Feel Aapla Culture

Tourist Niketan is an interactive tourism web application designed to help travellers discover the diverse destinations, cultural heritage, and hidden gems of Maharashtra. With the tagline “Explore Maharashtra, Feel Aapla Culture,” the platform makes trip planning easier by recommending destinations based on travellers’ moods, preferences, budgets, and travel duration.

The website features an interactive Maharashtra district map that helps users explore destinations across different regions. It provides destination information, historical stories, local traditions, suggested visiting seasons, estimated travel costs, and nearby accommodation search options. Users can also explore destinations by categories such as beaches, hill stations, forts, caves, spiritual places, and wildlife sanctuaries.

Tourist Niketan includes a budget-based trip planner that suggests suitable destinations and generates estimated itineraries with expense breakdowns for transportation, accommodation, food, and activities. Additional features include route planning through external map and transport services, a destination wishlist, an AI-powered conversational travel assistant, and an ESP32-based hidden gem beacon component to support location-aware tourism experiences.

Built using React, Vite, and Express, Tourist Niketan combines an engaging interface with practical travel-planning tools to encourage travellers to explore both popular attractions and lesser-known destinations across Maharashtra.
