Aegis Research OS

Aegis Research OS is a secure autonomous AI research platform that plans complex investigations, browses the web, analyses documents, executes code and generates evidence-backed reports with complete traceability. It integrates hybrid retrieval-augmented generation, headless Playwright browser automation, air-gapped sandboxed code execution and an evidence graph to produce reliable, reproducible, citation-backed research output. The stack combines a Streamlit and React Flow interface with a FastAPI and Uvicorn backend, using ChromaDB, BM25Okapi and NetworkX for retrieval and graph storage, and Docker, Playwright, NeMo Guardrails, the Gemini API and Ollama for execution and inference. Docker is a hard requirement, since the Python execution sandbox is air-gapped by design.
